Garners in January

I still don't feel like I have much to blog about. William's growing at a healthy pace, he's a great sleeper (5 hours almost every night!), still on oxygen - we'll let you know when he's off.

Poor Patrick and Stephen... I don't know where to begin. They've had cabin fever all Winter, but over the past week, they got nasty Flu fevers. Patrick got up to 104, we even had a trip to the ER where they just checked for Strep throat and told Matthew it was probably the normal flu because H1N1's been out of sight for 3 weeks. Stephen's never got up that high, but his cough has been worse than Patrick's. All I know is, I'm getting them vaccinated next year because this 4 day high fever thing is uncool. Other than that, they're still going crazy being cooped up in our apartment, I am DYING for warm weather to come!!!

Matthew is still working through SOS temp agency for Nu Skin. He actually had an interview for a supervisor position, and also applied for a couple other jobs. I'm very appreciative for his willingness to work where he can and we are both grateful that he has this at the present time.

I was on blood pressure medication for about 4 weeks after I had William from the preeclampsia, but I've been off it for 1-2 weeks now and I'm happy for that. I'm working again and man, I forgot how slow it is at the beginning of the year. I'm finding myself wishing to be asleep and near William a lot. If only the paycheck could come without the work, huh? Really, I'm grateful for my job and very grateful it's graveyard so we can manage a 2 income home without daycare.

I can't believe I still haven't mailed out our family Christmas card... we'll be sending those out this week. I'm tired just thinking about it. Maybe I'm just tired. lol We are loving the apartment and neighborhood we live in, we are grateful for our overall health and just happy in general. I can't wait until we get our tax return so we can have a vacation for the first time in over a year.

Can you guys believe one year ago at this time I was planning a divorce? Crazy how life can change. I love my husband Matthew, I'm so grateful for our happy marriage and still in shock and awe that it could even be as good as it is. I guess God just cares. :)

William's 3 weeks old now!

This has been a very crazy 3 weeks. I wish I could say I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I'm
quite selfish when it comes to my babies and I would've traded it all for being able to bring William home right away. Obviously, the Lord had a different plan for little Will and his family. Having him home has been wonderful. Matthew and I have a hard time putting him down when he's awake. Patrick and Stephen are really good about their little brother's situation. They'll probably think it's not normal when the oxygen tank is gone!

I don't know if I posted it or not, but I still had some high blood pressure hanging around from the pre-eclampsia issues. I got to cut the dose in half today and hopefully I'll be off it in a week! It makes me very tired and dizzy once in a while. Pre-eclamsia is an awful, scary thing. I feel bad for any woman who's had it and I never EVER want to have it again.

I want to say thank you so much to my family who's helped a TON with the boys over the last month. My mom, my sister and my sister-in-law Lisa have been SOOO helpful, and with short notice too. Matthew and I got to see William any chance we had. The opportunity to nurse William in the hospital was SO precious to me, I could not have done it without their help. I was making 4-6 trips to the hospital every day and Matthew had to work for a lot of that. Thank you gals so much!

Here are some pictures and I'm off to bed!

Patrick and Stephen were very happy to be able to see William up close! I couldn't get my mom to look away from this darling child long enough for a picture.

This is the handy, compact oxygen tank that goes everywhere our child goes! Our Doctor's appointment this morning was an adventure.

Matthew gets to put him in the car! Each one of these simple things made me cry. I was so happy to finally be one of the families loading a child in.

Going home! This was the nurse helping us out that day, we also had her twice before this time - she's a good one ;)

Man, he is not easy to take pictures of... I'll get some good ones one of these days.

Matthew and I kept our hospital bracelets on for all 16 days he was in the NICU, it was GREAT to be able to finally cut them off!!! We couldn't take them off any sooner because it made us feel connected to William when we couldn't be there.
